chain suspension

Deadlines happened at work.  For the first time in a while I had hope for the future and the present.  I spent a lot of time catching up on sleep.  And today I spent the day with soundsFun.

While cuddling I fantasized about a chain suspension.

I got out all of my restraints.  Humane restraints are on the wrists and ankles.  Locking humane restraints are just above the elbow.  Large leather thigh restraints are holding almost half of the weight.

I don't have chest restraints.  I first tried using velcro straps with D-rings.  But this quickly became uncomfortable, so I gave up on the purity of single media and got out the climbing webbing.  A simple rope corset with a structural loop holds about half the weight.

I had soundsFun start on the floor on his hands and knees.  I attached the vertical chain to the chest climbing web tie.  I attached the thighs by shifting his weight first to one side and then the other.  This brought his knees about half an inch off the ground.  Stretching his limbs outward with vertical chains to hands and then feet left him 6 or so inches off the ground.  The chains to the elbows prevent shoulder rotation from causing the elbows to touch the floor.

This uses almost all of the chain and all of the small caribeaners that I own.  I ran out of load rated chain compatible climbing caribeaners and had to substitute home-depot 150lbs working load caribeaners for the elbow lines.  But failure at the elbows would not be catastrophic to the suspension.

This is usable and pretty and comfortable.
