I am a part of the leather community. But I don't have a leather fetish. There are other things that hold the leather community together.
I do have a little military uniform thing.
I also don't like wearing pants. I feel much more comfortable in shorts.
The first rule of the leather community is "Don't break the scene." This is more than just a prohibition against interupting people in a dungeon. A leather bar is a scene in itself. And not interupting others is also a matter of good taste.
This means NO SEQUINS. And blending in.
Combat boots, BDU pants, and a black shirt are usually enough for me to blend in and feel comfortable.
The leather community is really accepting. And has significant overlap with my fetishes. In the gay community the leather and bondage communities significantly overlap.
I do own leather. And I have fun wearing it.
I just took posession of my new formal leather shorts. And I plan to have fun at IML.
