The Med cruise will be particularly interesting with a visit to Tunisia.
These used to be part of my annual routine of getting away from Seattle during the unpleasant 9 month long winter. But this was before I got into kink.
Parts of the vacation will take care of themselves. I love the theme parties that atlantis throws. And I follow a system pioneered by a friend. The system dictates that outfits for each of the parties will need to fit into a gallon sized Ziploc bag each.
But there will be kinky parts of the vacation. On a previous atlantis vacation the gift shop had been stocked with a variety of decent lubes and the toys that one might find at an entry level leather novelty store (heavily emphasizing porn name brands).
My frame of reference has been slightly warped by the beauty and majesty and enormity of the vendor mart at IML. But these items struck me as slightly troubling. The people who would use such items would likely have brought them in checked luggage.
And kink will require planning and forethought. Will the humidity of the Mediterranean make hemp rope too stiff for use? What types of scenes are appropriate for a gay cruise? What positions can be made to work with the railing on the balcony? Are there any toys that the cruise line will object to? (or for that matter the ports that we are visiting?)
The versions of flagging in Seattle are somewhat different than in other places. Bondage belt and safety shears are the ways that bondage tops here use to identify themselves. These haven't identified me well even at kink events in other cities. And I can't expect them to work on the cruise.
I will over-analyze this until my bags are packed and I'm checked in at the airport. But like always I will eventually relax and I will have fun.
