I like BDSM. Some of it takes preparation and practice. I've found some books really useful.
Complete Shibari Volume 1: Land and Complete Shibari Volume 2: Sky
These are the best books on ropework that I have found. The books are important enough that I will ignore the female breasts in the instructional bondage photographs. Some of the ties appear to be missing steps, but the photographs are of high enough quality that it is generally possible to reconstruct the missing bits.
Bondage For Sex
Sex with bondage can be really great. I haven't used the specific positions in this book. But I have used this book extensively as inspiration. Positions that are usable for sex by their nature reinforce dominance/submission. Though this book is intended for rope, one of the positions has become my favorite chain floorwork position.
Male Bondage
The bondage and photography are by Van Darkholme from boundGods. This seems to be the one good book of male bondage photography. The bondage is great. The pictures are beautiful. The photographs are a lot more about intimacy than boundGods, but the bondage isn't quite as useful.
Leathersex and Leathersex Q&A
I was a little surprised with these books. The important lessons for me were about interactions and relationships. The lessons seem to translate out of the leathersex world.
The Control Book
This book is written for a dominant, but this book made me understand that I am a control sensitive submissive. But also, I have used some of the dominance techniques effectively in scenes. (no, that doesn't make me dominant).
Slavecraft
I don't want to be a slave. The lessons are not only for slaves. A lighter version of the rituals and mindset are valuable for a submissive.
Flogging
I like my floggers. (and I'm starting to really like my riding crop). I didn't get much about flogging technique from this book. But what I did get was an idea of scene construction and bottom body position.
