I had prepared to perform a partial suspension for whipping for a demonstration at the Cuff.
The demonstration happened earlier this evening.
Things went okay. But there were challenges.
The suspension points in the ceiling there have been crowded with new lighting fixtures (and a medium sized mirror ball).
So I was going to have to attach him to one of the support columns of the bar.
A spread eagle position was suggested to me.
I ended up performing basically the same position that I had initially proposed. But not as a suspension.
I tied his forearms to the opposite upper arms. The lines from these were wrapped around the column and tied off.
The hip harness was again a tripled swiss seat connecting to a single column around the hipbones. I attached a line with a pair of half hitches, and used loop and ends to tighten his hips to the building support column.
I tied simple limb loops around his ankles over his boots and jeans. These I attached with climbing caribeaners to a suspension spreader bar. (somehow the spreader bar lost the pin that holds the chains together. i don't believe it is intended to come off.. this will require a visit to Tacoma Screw [the local purveyor of load-rated hardware] for replacement)
The whipping happened. There was blood.
I untied the bottom. The top commented on how quickly the ropes were undone.
A sub compared my ropework to that of Punitor1 and VisibleRestraint. I revisited their profiles and am once again amazed by the artistry of their achievements. I have work to do to eventually be worthy of that comparison.
