I tied soundsFun into a side suspension on Saturday at the Suspended Animation rope class.
I got constructive criticism from the TAs of the class. It was pointed out that lowering his chest to be more in line with his hips would make the suspension more comfortable. I prepared to lower his chest two inches.
As I unwrapped the main support line for his chest, soundFun used his free hand to hit me in the balls. I tried to angle my hips away from his swinging fist while I tried to complete the height adjustment.
His chest ended up a little too low. This caused the lines around his chest to bunch together and shift to quite near his floating rib.
As the TA for the class stepped in, soundsFun stopped trying to cause me pain. I adjusted his chest to the correct height and added shoulder straps to the chest band.
He was never in danger. Though painful he could have been fully supported by just his gunslinger hip harness.
I hadn't known how to make the shoulder straps work in a side knotted chest harness until this. Boys need shoulder straps.
When he started acting up I should have taken a step back and waited for time to subdue him.
