So soundsFun and I worked on suspension using the block-and-tackle techniques. I was using climbing webbing.
We performed a tie loosely based on the boundGods video deap vs luca - Live Shoot. What resulted was comfortable, but it turns out that I got the ankle-thigh tie wrong. I tied it as a two column tie, while in the video it was performed as two separate single column ties.
My climbing webbing is color-coded by length. The bright yellow is 20ft lengths. The blue is 25ft lengths. The red is 30ft lengths.
This was the first time that I got to use the climbing webbing rope corset technique instead of the wraps in a limb loop. I had practiced on a pair of funnoodles, but they are a poor substitute for a real boy.
The lift was suprisingly difficult. It turns out that the less rounded edge of some carabiners catch on the small ridges of the webbing and effectively produce static friction. Similarly even the rounded carabiners can produce a lot of friction with the smooth climbing webbing (counter-intuitively the ridged webbing moves more easily against the carabiners). After switching to more rounded carabiners the lift was possible.
This was a learning experience about my camera. Taking photos with a flash brings the foreground into brightness, but the background recedes into shadows. I started taking photos without the flash and liked them a lot better. The foreground and background have the same amount of lighting, so the background is still visible. (This would be the ideal time for HDR. But the digital SLR cameras don't support that yet.)
Many comfortable bondage positions resemble yoga positions. This makes a good bit of sense, since yoga positions are designed to be held, so are comfortable for more extended periods of time. I think that this looks like the child's pose.
He was comfortable in the bondage. The bondage was quite usable.
